Ch. 1 I'm bringing blogging back
In a world where everyone is vlogging, is it cool if I blog?
Recently, my husband looked at me & said that he knew what Hubs & Hers was missing right now - my blog.
His words were music to my ears to be honest. I love writing but I stopped dedicating the time because I thought our customers wanted social media, immediate satisfaction, instant gratification - not a slow burn. But I live for the slow burn. My phone notes are filled with run-on thoughts & incomplete paragraphs from my version of reality. Intended puns are my love language (& I have far from one love language I’ve learned in the last 35 years of my life). Maybe I’m wrong, perhaps I’m still right, but I’m listening to my husband on this one.
I want to write about my darkest secrets, like when I was younger, I thought that having a special needs child was the worst thing that could ever happen to a parent, but I was so wrong. I want to write about owning & operating a small business as husband & wife & how we’ve managed to keep this boat afloat for almost 11 years. I want to write about romance. I want to write about the butterfly garden in our backyard & DIY home projects. I've even had the itch to write a cookbook lately, which is incredibly odd considering my inability to cook, but then again, much about me is odd. Ask my husband.
My name is Lindsey & I am 1/2 of Hubs & Hers. You may have heard me reference myself as Mrs Farina or Hendrix's mom because my world revolves around my husband & my son, but if you're still reading this, you can call me Lin - a nickname that my younger self thought was so ugly, but my older self finds quite endearing. A nickname only those closest to me have adopted.
I enjoy scalding hot showers, nudity in films & going to bed at the same time as my husband. I love being a Floridian, eating dinner together as a family & R + L = H. I no longer know what sleeping in is & thankfully for me, I have forgotten what life even looked like before my husband.
If you keep your eye out for future chapters, you can anticipate spicy stories, honest relationship advice from an imperfect wife & life as a support needs parent. Please please please leave a comment & tell me what you’d love to read about or just say HI. Can’t wait to chat again soon.
Love always, Lin
I am SO excited for this! I love the personal connection you give to your brand. Love watching the Instagram stories that give a relatable background involving you and the people you love. Yay!
Been with your brand since 2018 when I was just a “girlfriend” – now a wife and fellow Autistic boy mama! Would love to hear more on your journey, and any advice along the way. Adore getting to see your family and projects, while of course living in my Hubs and Hers 🤎
I still write my husband cheesy love letters/notes. Way more meaningful than a quick post. Also, weird moms build character 🫶🏽
Hi Lin 🤍 Can’t wait to read about everything and anything you come up with! You are an inspiration 😍
