MEET SAMMI & FABIANA

I was really looking forward to meeting this pair. Sammi brought his overalls, as promised, and a head full of thick, dark curls. Fabiana strolled up flashing those big, pearly whites and my heart dropped to the floor. They entered our couch-less living room and sprawled a bag of Fabiana's clothes across the floor. How did she know one of my biggest fears? Exposed bra straps. She not only packed a strapless bra, but also a standard bra, a criss-cross bra, a lacy bralette and even a set sticky boobs (plus perfectly fitting high waisted jeans and his and hers matching sneaks) but I was already smitten with this kitten. I knew she would be able to pull off the powder blue, faux fur 80's bikini I inherited from my mother-in-law. This couple has killer style and we had a blast mixing Hubs & Hers pieces with clothes from their own closets. 

CALLED IT! The effortless romance is real. I saw it with my own two eyes. Fabiana really is Sammi's little spoon. His arms wrap perfectly around her petite frame and they seem the most at ease when holding one another.

We hopped out of the Hubs & Hers mobile and walked up to a sketchy coin laundromat from right out of my dreams, vintage arcade games and all. Sammi and Fabiana stood together on the sidewalk, sun blazing on their bronzed skin. It was an especially hot Florida afternoon.

 "Just be yourselves" I coaxed the duo, but they were way ahead of me. Sammi reached over and gently held Fabiana's cheek as she gazed up at him. An enormous smile took over her face and I could feel the love from 12 feet away. 

After taking over the laundromat, we headed to a local plant nursery. I had been dying to shoot at this location, but I couldn't bring just any couple to Johnny Mango's. Owned and operated by local husbands Danny and Ellwood in Delray Beach, FL for 26 years, this whimsical place is special. We threw one of our vintage his babe button downs on Fabiana and made ourselves right at home. 

 

Spending my Saturday with these two was like soup for my soul. Both in their very early 20's, they shared their passions for music and fashion and their dreams of moving to New York together. They wanted to know all about how Hubs & Hers came to be. I couldn't help but feel grateful as I retold the tales of painting old button downs on the floor of our one bedroom apartment, remembering my commitment to finally leave my job to pursue my passion. So much time has flown by since then, my husband by my side every step of the way. 

We wish these young lovers nothing but endless adventure together.
